  1. wow, this is an former thread. didnt even notice.

TB is sooo sensitive. Dealer can reset it in seconds
  3. i got mine fixed just past unplugging the battery and throttle body exit over night, and Perform "Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning" Perform "Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning" idle is nice and depression now , didn't even have do the idle air volume learning procedure. every thing is working perfectly now.
  4. did mine just a few minutes ago, didnt bulldoze it, just permit it get upwardly to operating temp. cel still on and information technology worked. then i cleared the lite and were good to become! timing is crucial with this procedure i also used the cd player to time it all out.
  5. I finally got around to cleaning my throttle body and I was surprised to come across how much crap has built up on the butterfly valve. I mean it was piled on. After the cleaning, I am having idle bug besides but I take to look until tomorrow morning time to do the reset thingy. I am currently idling simply under 1k rpm. What rpm should i be idling at cold start?
  6. I only cleaned out my TB and plenum today, preformed all the pedal dance tricks, and everything is fine. No CEL and no high idle. It did have me a few tries to get the resets to piece of work merely its all good now. An oil catch is definitely next on my modern list. Hither are some before and after pics...

Without the pedal dance tricks ( ///799 ) I would certainly have had to take information technology to a "existent" mechanic.

oh he volition def feel comeback.. i did this to my and my friend FX and they run so much smoother once yous become the procedure washed.
  9. So far I've noticed a smoother idle and quicker shutoff merely I've driven less than 3 miles since I finished. I'll allow you know tomorrow afterwards I bulldoze effectually a trivial.
  10. Nice before/after photos! You need to slap in a plenum spacer for sure!!!

I did the verbal same cleaning a couple months ago, only did not need to reset anything. Idle and operation have been normal earlier and subsequently the cleaning. Afterwards cleaning I was motivated to get an oil grab to stop the gunk from edifice up equally quickly in the time to come.

  11. Did mine terminal weekend. Did all the reset procedure and is working fine until I plough it off then start it support. Them I become the p0507 error. Did it multiple times and same result. Whatever suggestions?

Dave how much did they accuse you for a consult reset?

Just installed a Crawford Plenum and beloved information technology. Performed the TB reset procedure only...

The car idles at a little over the 2nd line (750rpm?) in the first rpm intervals. It stays smoothen for near thirty seconds, and then dips lower and then correct back up to the 2nd mark. When it dips low yous tin can feel the engine struggle and the motorcar vibrates. :(.

Im hoping that cleaning the tb volition fix things upwardly. I'm afraid that there is a leak between the crawford and lower plenum (although i replaced the old gasket with a new i...). Anyone know what symptoms a leak would show?

Update: Concerning Crawford + Rough Idle...

70F and sun today. Decided to take another expect at it. Apparantly while installing the first fourth dimension, the gasket was non seated properly. Reinstalled the crawford and torqued the screws (Hint: If you dont accept a torque wrench, apply a nut driver and tighten it firmly, it is approx the aforementioned as 100inch/lbs on a torque wrench). Fired it up and the idle is perfect now. No more crude dipping and engine shaking. Love every second of the modern, and killed a quarter tank of gas while "road testing." :)

Thanks iS family for all the assist! You lot guys are the best!!

  15. i'm experiencing this loftier system idle air command afterward replacing plugs, gaskets and valve covers. i hope this reset works!! thanks in advance (i hope).
    1. ENGINE COLD
    2. Perform "Accelerator Pedal Released Position Learning" .
    3. Make sure that accelerator pedal is fully released.
    4. Plow ignition switch "ON" and wait at least two seconds.
    5. Plough ignition switch "OFF" wait at least 10 seconds.
    6. Plough ignition switch "ON" and wait at least 2 seconds.
    7. Turn ignition switch "OFF" wait at to the lowest degree x seconds.
    8. WAIT over 10 seconds earlier this next footstep.
    9. Perform "Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning" .
    10. Brand certain that accelerator pedal is fully released.
    11. Turn ignition switch "ON". Expect EXACTLY Ane SECOND Precipitous. Plough ignition switch "OFF"
    12. So await at least x seconds.
    13. Brand sure that throttle valve moves during higher up x seconds by confirming the operating sound. - Very hard to hear annihilation at all. Just believe this is happening past faith.
Now, here'due south the big modify
    1. Outset engine and warm it upward to normal operating temperature.
AND RIDE YOUR Car FOR AT LEAST 15 MINUTES, this will make for correct operating temperatures to happen within the engine for the following steps. Warming your car in the garage in the morning aparently does not cut it.
    1. Plough ignition switch "OFF" and await at least 10 seconds.
    2. Confirm that accelerator pedal is fully released, turn ignition switch "ON" and look 3 seconds.
    3. Repeat the following procedure quickly 5 times within 5 seconds.
    4. Fully depress the accelerator pedal. Fully release the accelerator pedal.
    5. Expect vii seconds
    6. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and keep it for approx. 20 seconds until the MIL stops blinking and turns ON.
    7. Fully release the accelerator pedal within 3 seconds subsequently the MIL goes off. Start engine and let it idle. THE ENGINE MUST BE STARTED Within THE 3 SECONDS AFTER Information technology STOPS BLINKING, THATS HOW THIS Lite GOES OFF. THE SERVICE Manual DOES NOT STATE THIS, Just IF YOU LOOK AT THE DIAGRAM WHERE THE ENGINE LINE ON-OFF IS, IT CLEARLY SHOWS YOU SHOULD Plough It ON WITHIN THESE Three SECONDS.
This is where your engine will start to acquire the right idle settings
    1. Wait 20 seconds.
    2. Rev upwards the engine two or three times and brand sure that idle speed and ignition timing are inside the specifications.

I know this is a one-time thread but that what I am facing today....
I don't know why it didn't piece of work for me. Did everything as above said till Step 4 CEL was blinking 4 times before Look 7 SECONDS then it was on all the fourth dimension to STEP 6, continued to the END ....... nothing changed.
If anyone tin chim in and I will give information technology another try before get to the concluding option..
take to the stealership and pay them $155.00 to get information technology ready...
    Thank you in advance.
    Paul.

All clams are dainty and tight on the intake path? I have make clean my TB many fourth dimension and have not experience this at all.
  17. Yes, all connectors are OK. Just don't know why !!!!!!!!
  18. Howdy Andy,
I want you to know that I fixed the trouble and so happy. Timing was it all almost.
The FX running much better afterward cleaned MAF + TB + Plenium. Hopefully won't take whatsoever problem next fourth dimension doing it..LOL
